This July, step into a world of music, mischief, and mechanical marvels as Curious Garden brings the historic charm of Rosherville Pleasure Gardens back to life—with a steampunk twist!
Taking place Saturday 12th July from 2pm–6pm at the picturesque Baronial Gardens, Cable Wharf, this free family event promises an afternoon of live entertainment, hands-on creativity, and curious characters, all set against the backdrop of local history.
A NOD TO ROSHERVILLE
Pleasure gardens were public spaces in the 19th century designed for entertainment and recreation—complete with concert halls, amusement rides, bandstands, and menageries.
Rosherville Gardens, built in 1837 in a disused chalk pit in Northfleet, once dazzled
visitors with its variety of attractions for over 70 years before closing just before the First World War.
Curious Garden reimagines that historic space for a modern audience—with added
clockwork, creativity, and community spirit.
